Sailing outfit Team New Zealand have renewed their title sponsorship deal with Emirates in a deal that sees the Dubai-based company also become the official airline partner of the 36th America’s Cup competition.

Additionally, Emirates’ deal with the America’s Cup includes the World Series (ACWS), meaning the airline will sponsor all preliminary regattas leading up to the 2021 event. For the ACWS event in Portsmouth, UK, Emirates has signed on as presenting partner.

Emirates has been the naming sponsor for Emirates Team New Zealand since 2004.


Consumer brand Pisen Electronics has signed a deal with the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) to become an official sponsor of the CBA League.

Staying with basketball, the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Atlanta Hawks have signed a partnership with Chase Bank which includes fixed signage at the franchise’s State Farm Arena home.

The Basketball Bundesliga (BBL), Germany’s top-tier, has agreed a deal with Citroen-owned car brand DS Automobiles to become the league’s official mobility partner until 2022.

La Liga, the organising body for Spain’s top professional soccer leagues, has agreed a branding partnership with ski resort Aramón.

In Brazil, top-flight soccer outfit Atletico Mineiro have signed a new shoulder sponsorship deal with real estate firm Multimarcos Consorcios. The deal also includes branding on the back of the women’s team jersey.

Hotels.com have become the new shorts sponsor of French giants Olympique Marseille. The travel platform’s branding takes over the Ligue 1 club inventory from ParionsSport (FDJ).

German top-tier soccer team Mainz 05 have chosen not to extend their kit deal with Italian manufacturer Lotto, the contract expires at the end of the 2019/20 season.

English top-flight women’s soccer outfit Brighton and Hove Albion have announced SnickersUK.com as their new sleeve sponsor. The workwear manufacturer’s branding will appear on the left sleeve of the Women’s Super League (WSL) team’s jersey.

The National Lacrosse League (NLL) has partnered with Greenfly in a move that allows players to access personalised galleries of images and videos to share with fans on social media.

Law firm Gowling WLG has partnered with Team Canada and Team England ahead of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Toronto Wolfpack, Canadian rugby league outfit playing in England’s Super League top-flight, have extended their deal with Metrolinx for the 2020 season. The club will utilise Metrolinx/GO as their official transit partner, while the GO logo will appear on the team’s playing kit.

In golf, Glenmuir has extended its licensee deal with Ryder Cup Europe for another five-years.

Media Rights

British pay-tv broadcasters BT Sport and Sky have been handed a deadline to submit their bids for a three-year rights contract for the Indian Premier League (IPL) Twenty20 cricket competition by the end of January.

Brazilian basketball’s governing body Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) has agreed a media rights deal with social video platform Twitch. The deal grants the platform rights to stream ten NBB matches during the 2019/20 season.

The Rugby Football League (RFL) and UK public service broadcaster the BBC have announced an extension of their rights deal for the Coral Challenge Cup and Coral Women’s Challenge Cup competitions.

Eleven Sports has acquired live rights to the Cage Warriors fights in Belgium, Luxemburg and Italy through 2021.

Games publisher Riot Games and agency Redd+E have agreed a deal to distribute media rights for the upcoming inaugural 2020 League of Legends Pacific Championship Series.
